The genus Opomydas Curran (Diptera: Mydidae) is reviewed with 2 species recognized: O. townsendi (Williston) and O. limbatus (Williston). Opomydas athamus (Séguy) is a new junior synonym of O. limbatus. The male and female genitalia of both species are illustrated for comparison.
